Naval Biographical Database Scope
	The nominal start date is 1660, with the end date remaining under review.  Current input is concentrating on populating the database with Commission, Warrant and Yard Officers to 1815. The long term aim is to include all individuals who have served or been associated with the Royal Navy during the period - Commission and Warrant Officers, Ratings, Yard Officers, Supply and Procurement Departments, and possibly their families - as far as the surviving records allow.  At a conservative estimate this will lead to some fifty million entries covering about five million people.
